Yoga is one of my favorite forms of exercise because it is the perfect workout to add to your fitness routine regardless of your fitness goals. Yoga can be used as a stand alone form of exercise for the non-athlete who simply wants to gain some strength, stamina, and flexibility for a healthier lifestyle. Yoga is also a perfect addition to a cardio heavy or strength-training schedule because you will give your muscles a much needed break without actually skipping a workout. Yoga moves are unique in that they strengthen while simultaneously stretching your muscles. Yoga also improves balance and core strength, which is great for preventing injures and improving posture.
